conjuring the winter storm
Melody drips her blood on candle
the flames are casting silent forms
Under the staircase in her book
she presses flowers and insect wings
She draws a circle around the star

Conjuring souls through the ancient corridors
draped in the shadows of night
Melody witchcraft emanates
a violet aura seldom seen
She stands and whispers incantations
alleviates her suffering
Melody lights a secret candle
places it above the well
Under the moonlit looming gables
she's lowering the pail
Melody rose like the mists of Avalon

Her soul, a pagan minstrel
in the forest of the dead
Her eyes are fixed and ominous
she floats above her bed
