Strange Machine was recorded during the time Damien was recording his Bride Of The Asylum album. Unlike the loner freak folk of that album, Strange Machine finds Damien working with a full band. The Strange Machine.

The Strange Machine only recorded this lone album, played two shows, one of them being a very high profile show at the Anne Rice Annual Coven party, then broke up quickly afterwards.

Though this pre-Dates Damien's full on 70's glam project "The Cosmic Cult Of Adam Strange", you can hear that direction already beginning to take root.

Note: For those familiar with Damien's Bride Of The Asylum, here you're treated to one of it's tracks with a full band treatment. "Virus".

I see the grave, beckoning my bones, I can’t even speak, I can only stand in... Shadows of the past, still hovering my soul, like vultures full of wrath, they pick apart my sacred soul.

And the angels behold me as something touched the brain... And the spirits unfold me as I go insane.

Holly close the door, lock it from inside, please don’t make a sound, I don’t want to die here. Look into my eyes, feel my naked soul, serpentine divine, Lothius devours, poisoning my ghost, ripping through the mask, terrifying host, can you make it last.

And my good friend watches, as I touch the brain.
And my girlfriend watches as I go insane..

I don’t feel the pain, I just close my eyes, needle in the vein, I’m floating into light. Conscious do be void, no suffering tonight, I am not afraid, shooting up on antichrist.

And the strange voice taunts me, from deep inside the brain. And the children all watch me, as I go insane..

We are all alone, we are here in vain, godless without homes, strangers in the rain. Many billion souls, have cried out to the skies, please god take me home, please don’t let me die, but we are still alone.
