lyrics
Sitting solitaire on Tolstoy afternoons
watching as that two face moon
tries tricking me
through rustling leaves
into shepherd sleep
With all her science
and her romance
and mythologies
she’s trying to cast her spell on me
my soul released to velvet glow
Flow through lunar bliss
to stranger’s kiss
on the holy wings of Artemis
Alone beneath the gingham swirl
of gorgeous nights
I lie awake and wonder
oh how many lonely nights
can I afford myself
looking in the eyes of no one else
Chastised by the church bell chimes
beat down by the hands of time
wake up on the floor and find
I can’t recall her name or my state of mind
Untold truths and misspent trust
I don’t miss you, I miss the both us
I don't just miss you, I miss both of us
Tripping down the jigsaw jazz
of city streets
morning sunlight through the trees
wraps the day in cellophane
swirling all around me in off key harmony
voices carry on the breeze
on my odyssey for amnesty
On my lonely search for Artemis
A true hidden treasure of a song writer. This gent has been capturing songs in demo form on old tape recorders since the 80s. . . and he's still capturing his magic sounds in his secret basement. Damien Youth
Excellent medieval folk, IGR, & those with ears to hear. I love the sense of mysticism and deep, introspective ponder this album conveys, & the honest down-to-earth folky lyrics. Simply wonderful yet soulfully rich. Highlights for me are tracks 2, 5, 6, & 12. IGR truly capture what I feel is an authentic sense of a medieval bard at a woodland rill pondering the mysteries of life. Highly recommended. 8.5+/10. Alrihkh
Done in medieval, wyrdfolk and psychedelic style, there is a deep bell to open and close the recording. An allegorical tale using alchemy as a backdrop, it is very pastoral and haunting. Some instruments included are viola, nyckelharpa, and dulcimer, along with acoustic and electric guitars, keyboards and percussion. The phantasmagoric story that ensues once the vocals begin is best listened to from start to finish for full effect. Favourite Track: The Serpent Nickie Harte Kelly
