And on the day of my demise
I'd wish not to die beneath your mortal eyes
for only sorrow would they bring
I'd much prefer nature's great consistencies
such as the sky, the earth, the wind, the trees
for they do not cry, nor mourn, nor do they weep
nor are they surprised, nor are they surprised.
And when the solemn angel comes
I will be ready to depart
Deliver my spirit to the sun
that I might shine down on all I've left behind
for they too will come to join me in the sky
I leave you this song so that it will remind
when you look at the sky, you'll still feel my eyes
Give back my body to the earth
please give my poems to all humanity
Give my possessions to my enemies
For surely they only serve to tie you down
To anchor your soul to this unholy ground
And now as I pass I see how pointless it was to desire
fuel for the fire.
And on this darkest night of sleep
it would mean more if you would realize
though I'm beyond your mortal reach
deep in your heart my soul is still alive
and it will be there until the day you die
and then you'll ascend to join me in the sky
and we will be one... We will be one.

The Seed
03:55
|
|||
I plant the seed I wait in silent wonder
To sun pay heed, he'll raise you from your slumber
to stand alone, like me, there'll be no other
We'll bow our heads, in rain and wind and thunder
But you unlike me,
through wanting you were summoned here
And you unlike me can live without tears
I lock the door, and peek through curtained windows
I wage a war and I shall will not surrender
You have been warned, I chose this alienation
I'm not deformed. I am the deformation
A pantomime god
I cloak myself in tattered robes
I raise up my arms
and peer through your immortal soul
I stalk the mores, in deicidal anger
I seek the form, in it's decrepit nature
To raise him up and pierce his paraffin skin
To deflagrate our nation's Teraphim
In his deified state,
he blinded every soul on earth
Now he closes his eyes
and moves towards his second birth
He plants the seed. He watched in silent wonder
To him pay heed, he'll raise us from our slumber
To stand as one, like him, there'll be no other
We bow our heads, all sisters and all brothers
But we unlike him,
through wanting we were summoned here
But we, just like him, can't live without tears

Serpent & The Fool
05:21
|
|||
All things unseen, desire no acknowledgment
to all who concede to be trapped in the conscious state
who cannot perceive beyond their own element
who ostracize me for presenting the paradox
oh, Paraclete... do comfort me
The Serpent be wise but it only takes a fool and his flute
to deceive him unweave him from his basket of truth
mesmerized, by the music of lies
Don't be ensnared or lured by society
please don't forget it was they
who had stolen your dreams
as a child, in exchange for the immaculate lie
like that time in your youth
you'd see things in your room and cry out
your mother rushed in turned the light
(You're only dreaming, I don't believe you)
Close your eyes it is alright
(I did not want you, I did not want you)
It's only a dream
(I never loved you, I never loved you)
She's teaching you how not to see
(I did not want you, I did not want you)
Just like her society
The institute of higher earning
seduced you from your path of learning
They say the soul is but a theory
and now your body's growing weary
But now you've got no god to pray to
for god is only human virtue
astronomically projected
unreal for science can't detect it
nor put it in an incubator
a test tube or an oscillator
subject it to mere human scrutiny
can't they see there are things
bigger than you and bigger than me
All things that live, desire continuance
All things that die, desire a reverence
All souls contained have fear of the elements
All souls released shall return to the embodiment
of all that is god and all that is man ascend
to all that is god and all that is man
The institute of higher earning
seduced you from your path of learning
They say the soul is but a theory
and now your body's growing weary
But now you've got no god to pray to
for god is only human virtue
astronomically projected
unreal for science can't detect it
nor put it in an incubator
a test tube or an oscillator
subject it to mere human scrutiny
can't they see there are things
bigger than you and bigger than me
Can't they see the god that's with-in
is with-in the god that's without
Can't they see the god that's with-in
is with-in the god that's without

Lover's Mask
03:42
|
|||
Misty Saturday, Walking through the fields.
I spied you in the golden dawn
Hanging clothes and singing songs
Oh, I am over here, by the wishing well
Captured by your innocence
I long to taste your hemlock kisses
I'll praise thy holy name in song
and they'll ascend up to the spires
To be sung by the 9 choirs
For I have surely cast my gaze
upon a beauty to be praised
for all the passing of the days
From my lonely tower, I am casting spells
With touch-me-nots & widow's dare
stolen locks of golden hair
The circle can't be broke, I drink the sacrament
I take your picture from the frame
and feed it to the candle flame
I will bewitch thee with my spells
I'll drop a lily in the well
Soaked with frankincense & gale
For I have surely cast my gaze
upon a beauty to be praised
for all the passing of the days
Will you wear the mask, of my lovers past
Hold me close in candle rooms
listen to my haunted tunes
Oh, I will worship you, like I used to do...
In this bed where once we loved
the sheets still smell of sandalwood
I will hold you like a child
& you can close your weary eyes
& I'll be there til morning skies.
For I have surely cast my gaze
upon a beauty to be praised
for all the passing of the days
