1984, Damien Youth's music was just circulating amongst a small group of bedroom stoners, teenage runaways & acid heads. The only distribution was old cassette tapes being passed around, hand to hand on campuses & backrooms of all night parties, most often accompanied with the urging "Dude, You gotta get really messed up & listen to this weird guy."

Fluttering Briar features 14 remastered songs from Damien Youth's teenage years.

Cradle Room 03:37
Who robbed the cradle room? While mother she was sleeping all those figures in the window blocked the moon Who left the boy alone? While father's sleeping miles away sub-characters are hiding in his home Who turned the boy to stone? Oh, mother wouldn't listen when I told her I don't want to sleep alone Search out the cold and gray, forgetting 'bout the cradle room and all those strangers trying to have their way And I don't know me anymore, I'm lost without a name And when there's strangers at the door, I'm paralyzed with pain And I will not forget the moon And the scenes from the cradle room And I will not forget the moon Lock up the cradle room And lock up the emotions that were shattered torn and strewn about the room Who robbed the cradle room? While mother she was sleeping all those figures in the window blocked the moon And I don't want to be alone, I'm lost inside my home And I don't want to be alone, I'm lost inside my home And I will not forget the moon And the scene from the cradle room And I will not forget the moon

Brian's Gone 02:29
You're heaven to hold on a misty Saturday You're barely down, can I touch you Emily Brian's gone & he won't be back till early dawn Brian's gone can I touch you Emily. I say it once again, what could be better than happy holding friends, kissing so clever You're my memory lane, you're my half moon imagery You're heaven to hold, can I touch you Emily Brian's gone & he won't be back till early dawn Hear my song can I touch you Emily. I say it once again, what could be better than happy holding friends, kissing so clever. Then all at once, let's communicate in braille.

I remember your pale ankles being ravaged by the seabirds as you stood there on the beach, stricken then from speech I recall your long hair flowing as the autumn winds were blowing shifting sands about your feet, colored sands, the high hill colored sands Holly the undying haunt, possessing the heart of me I cry alone in the hollows of my room Holly the undying haunt, ensparking my memory I still see your face in the light of the half lit moon On the shores of aromessence I recall your adolescence as I slumbered by the reeds, Holly stands in the wind blown sprinkling seeds I remember cherished moments when I smothered you with kisses and got tangled in your beads... Holly the undying haunt, possessing the heart of me I cry alone in the hollows of my room Holly the undying haunt, ensparking my memory I still see your face in the light of the half lit moon And the gray tongue god pressed against my window enslaving me forever... the undying haunt

Here comes Elaine from the Cottonwood she sang a song like I'd never heard there in the shade, a whispering charade. Under the stars by the silent field, I lay her down & lift the veil she opens wide, a tauntillating bride. From the edge of the woods came A thousand eyes There is no love in the field of the dragonflies Me & Elaine on the Miller's path her image looks like a photograph from a magazine, the kind you'd love to cream. The path leads on to a trickling brook where we tarry there until the timbers shook leaves in our hair, so naked, unaware. From the edge of the woods came A thousand eyes There is no love in the field of the dragonflies With all of the grace of a fluttering briar they nested there in our attire we spun in fear, like an insect chandelier

Lorain 03:15
Didn't know you that well so I slept on the floor then I, crept through your door while you were deeply asleep. I stood by your bed & I covered your head & I dreamt' you were dead so we could love on the sheets You turned to your side & you (God bless Lorain) Opened your eyes & you (God bless Lorain) Started to smile as you (God bless Lorain) reached for my hand. We went to the playground & (God bless Lorain) looked at the stars and I (God bless Lorain) looked in your eyes and I (God bless Lorain) started to fade. Without the heavy halo hanging over me I can feel the sainted angel descending in curiosity We sat on the grave stones & (God bless Lorain) counted the shadows that (God bless Lorain) were cast by the willow that (God bless the rain ) stretched into the night. You looked at my hands & the (God bless Lorain) cuts on my wrists & you (God bless Lorain) looked in my eyes and we (God bless Lorain) started to kiss... isn't it bliss

Silent Race 03:19
We are building a Silent race, within these silent walls like lone men wandering silent in space, they crowd the silent halls. We take the cutting blade & then we take away the part of them that make them human. We tend to separate, the ones that can't relate to our world it's so inhuman. We keep on sending men to space to try & find another race while down here all the while, there's men locked up since infantile but science hasn't got the time, to search a race that's not designed for giving us new games to play, is this what we call civilized? We are men of your silent race, reflections of you all Lone men wandering silent in space, ask me what I saw. They took the cutting blade & then they took away the part of me that made me human. They tend to separate, the one's that can't relate to your world it's so inhuman. The silent race don't realize that all our minds are circumcised by all the shit that's televised, it's hard for us to visualize. A world not based on tv shows, shopping malls, videos, brand new cars, designer clothes is this what you call civilized. . . civilized We are men of your silent race We are men of old. We are men of your silent race We are men of old. (Every night & every day, I wonder why they keep me here locked away, in silence, solitude's a cold embrace) We are men of your silent race, now it's time to revolt.

Hello winter where are you going? With your gray skies silent snowing. With your sad eyes weeping rainy days, your teardrops turn to crystal flakes & frozen lakes & branches break with every breath you take. Hello angel where are you hiding? with your long hair & your shy lit eyes Hello angel do be silent. And I will make for you a place to lie, where you can cry, do shade your eyes. But all things pass away, that's the one reality But why are all those people looking at me And why did I hear somebody say... "I didn't know he passed away." "I didn't know he passed away." "I didn't know he passed away." I was hiding in the woods, when I spied you by the Apricot So come on angel look my way, please don't be frightened here by what you see, it's only me, don't run away. I'm still the little child you knew, from way back when we saw the world from swing set view. And we would run through Shaman's field. And he would run us off but he was cross & I know how he feels. But all things pass away, that's the one reality But why are all those people looking at me And why did I hear somebody say... "I didn't know he passed away." "I didn't know he passed away." "I didn't know he passed away."
